Synthetic Waterproof Underlayment
Prevents wind-driven rain or water from other sources from infiltrating under your shingles and causing damage to your roof structure or the inside of your home. There are many different brands available.
Aluminum Drip Edge
The lower edges of your roof should extend beyond the fascia board by about 3/4 inch so that the rain runoff drains into the gutters. If this extension is too short or level with your fascia, water will drip behind the gutters, leading to rotted roof sheathing and fascia. Before installing your new shingles, Tension Seal installs an aluminum drip edge along the entire perimeter of your home to better protect your investment.
Ice & Water Shield
This products is used under the asphalt shingles. Ice and water shield will effectively resist water penetration into your home. It is applied to the entire perimeter of your home including all the areas around your vents, chimneys, skylights and valleys. The primary purpose of ice & water shield is to keep water from seeping under your roof and causing damage to your roof, attic and even the interior of your home.
Ridge Vent
The ridge vent is installed at the peak of a sloped roof to allow warm air to escape. It will increase energy efficiency & prolong the life of your new roof.
Pipe Collars
A flexible seal that seals around the stack pipes that stick out of your roof. These plastic pipes (usually white in color) allow air into your bathroom and kitchen drains. They get replaced with every new roof.
